The Crowne Plaza République was built in 1868 by the architect Gabriel Davioud during the construction of the place de la République, in Paris.

The building has from the start a commercial and hotel vocation. The large windows openings and the sculptures on the façade, the wide courtyard gives a delicate architectural quality.

The hotel experienced a heavy restructuration in 1982 which resulted to a complex renovation.

The four stars hotel contains today 328 room, 18 conference room, a gym, a reception hall, a bar, and a restaurant.

Since 2008, Atelier du Torrent has been assisting successive owners in the restructuring, renovation of the building and conducting prospective studies on the transformation of interior spaces.

Atelier du torrent collaborated with studio Conran and Partners during the renovation of the public spaces in 2019.
